In a shop or restaurant, the same network has to serve tills (POS), card payment terminals, customer Wi-Fi and cameras — all at peak hour. DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting designs, installs and manages business networks for retail and hospitality in Lisbon, with payment traffic kept apart from public traffic and a common standard for chains with several sites. If the network fails, the till stops and the customer walks out; the aim is that this never happens.

From survey to managed network

Ongoing management — maintenance, expansion and support under the IT Unlimited contract, for a fixed monthly fee.

Frequently asked questions

Can payments and customer Wi-Fi run at the same time?

Yes. Traffic is separated by VLAN: tills and terminals have a dedicated, stable connection, and customer Wi-Fi is isolated, without affecting operations.

Do you install video surveillance?

The network is prepared for IP cameras and DataRoad supports the installation of the video surveillance systems.

Do you work with chains and franchises?

Yes. The installation is standardised across shops and support is central, which simplifies managing multiple units.

Can you have everything ready before opening?

Yes, the installation is planned together with the fit-out and the opening date.

What if the network fails mid-trading?

The shop is covered by the support contract, with immediate remote support and on-site call-outs. On-site support is unlimited from the Premium plan upwards.

Opening or refurbishing a shop or restaurant?

DataRoad takes responsibility for maintaining and managing the installed network, under the IT Unlimited contract. We do not do one-off call-outs or sell standalone equipment.
