DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting has been designing, installing and managing Ubiquiti UniFi networks for businesses since 2015 and is today one of Portugal’s leading names in Ubiquiti projects. That means more than 138 sites, many with redundancy and an immediate-response SLA, and more than 1321 managed devices — access points, switches, gateways, antennas and CCTV cameras — all built on the same technical foundation and looked after by the team that installed them.
The numbers
- 2015 Start of DataRoad’s Ubiquiti projects
- 138+ sites Many with redundancy
- 1321+ devices Antennas, cameras, network equipment and CCTV under management
A single architecture across every client: a unified, redundant network managed by the people who installed it.
Why a unified network changes management
With Wi-Fi, switching, routing and video surveillance on the same platform, the company sees its entire infrastructure on a single screen. There are fewer points of failure, configuration is consistent across every site and problems are solved faster. Redundancy at critical points keeps operations running when a component fails.
On DataRoad’s side, using the same solutions for every client means each network is supported with the same know-how and the same monitoring and alerting tools. That consistency, built up over years, is what makes a network stable, predictable and easy to manage.
The full lifecycle of a managed UniFi network
- Planning — coverage study and design of the network and redundancy to suit the operation.
- Installation and configuration — cabling, antennas, switching, routing and video surveillance by the same team.
- Management and support — monitoring, updates and ongoing support, with an immediate-response SLA.
Recognition from the manufacturer
Ubiquiti has published DataRoad case studies internationally as references for solutions implemented in Portugal. It is the result of work done project by project, over many years.

The technical experience behind the projects
When DataRoad began working with Ubiquiti in 2015, its CEO already had extensive experience in networks, servers and enterprise IT support. He had served as technical director of a multinational IT security company in Portugal and worked in IT Consulting at HP Portugal, taking part in building marketplaces and in projects for groups such as CUF and Sonae, alongside companies such as SAP and Microsoft.
He also worked in solutions integration at two IT distributors representing some of the world’s biggest brands, and holds several technical certifications from manufacturers. It is this background that gives DataRoad the judgement to choose, integrate and support the right technology for each business.
Done with passion
At DataRoad, designing networks and making them work is more than a job. We enjoy building networks that companies forget exist, because they simply do not fail — from the first coverage study to day-to-day management.
