In 2022, Panike — a Portuguese bakery and pastry brand founded in 1986 — chose DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting to build the network infrastructure for its warehouse in Lisbon. The project included Cat6/Cat6A structured cabling, organised racks and patch panels, a local network and Wi-Fi access points covering the entire space. The goal: reliable, secure connectivity for intensive logistics operations.

Why a warehouse is a challenge for Wi-Fi
Warehouses have high ceilings, metal racking, cold rooms and moving equipment — everything that attenuates and reflects wireless signal. At the same time, operations depend on terminals, scanners and computers that are always connected. A business wireless network designed for an office is not enough.
That is why the project started with the wired foundation and only then distributed the access points, to guarantee coverage across the whole usable area.

After installation: a managed network
As an MSP, DataRoad maintains the infrastructure through the IT Unlimited contract, on the Premium and Premium 365 plans:
