In 2025, DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting built the network infrastructure for Klass Wagen Rent a Car's new office in Funchal, Madeira, from scratch: structured cabling, enterprise Wi-Fi, a firewall and video surveillance, all by a single team. The project followed the work DataRoad had already done at the brand's offices at Expo, Camarate, Faro and Porto, and shows that our support reaches the whole country, islands included.

The challenge: opening a new operation on an island
A car rental counter depends on systems that are always available: bookings, contracts, payments and vehicle handovers. Opening an office in Funchal required a network ready on day one, secure and managed remotely from the mainland, with on-site visits whenever necessary.
How the network was built
- Structured cabling — a complete IT network for workstations and equipment.
- Enterprise Wi-Fi — a wireless network sized for the operation.
- Firewall — configuration and installation of perimeter protection.
- Video surveillance (CCTV) — a camera system on the same infrastructure.
- Optimisation — fine-tuning of performance and connectivity for daily operation.

What this project shows about DataRoad
DataRoad is a premium managed IT services provider (MSP), with its head office in Alfragide and support across the whole of Portugal.
