In 2021, easyHotel Lisbon moved the hotel's telephony to voice over IP with DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting. Around 106 PoE IP phones, spread over 6 floors, connect the 101 rooms, reception and internal services to an IP-PBX that runs over the existing data network. The same team manages the hotel's internet, firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi — a single partner for communications and infrastructure.

Why voice over IP pays off in a hotel
In a hotel with more than a hundred rooms, traditional telephony becomes expensive to maintain and hard to expand, especially when lines or features need adding. An IP-PBX over the data network changes that equation:
- Central management Rooms, reception and internal services administered from a single point.
- Less dedicated cabling Voice uses the same PoE network as data.
