In 2022, Reltio by SAP, a US technology company headquartered in Redwood City, California, chose DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting to build the network infrastructure of its new Lisbon office from scratch. The result: 107 network points, a comms room, enterprise Wi-Fi, a firewall and Dell and Apple workstations, delivered so the team could start working without a hitch from day one.

The starting point: an international office with no margin for failure
When a multinational opens an office in a new country, technology has to meet three objectives at once:
- Start without incidents — a stable network and Wi-Fi for teams and operations from day one.
- Security by default — perimeter protection, rules and best practices applied from the outset.
- Grow without rebuilding — room for new teams and devices without starting the infrastructure again.
Reltio by SAP is a cloud-native data platform company (SaaS), founded in 2011 and a reference in Master Data Management. In 2022 it ranked #2 in The Software Report's "Top 25 Data Software Companies of 2022". Its Reltio by SAP Identity 360 product brings together data from multiple sources, removes duplicates and creates a single source of truth with a universal identifier for each profile. The company's clients include life sciences and healthcare organisations, hotel groups and global brands.
How the network infrastructure was built
Structured cabling and comms room
DataRoad's networking team installed 107 network points for fixed workstations, peripherals, meeting rooms, critical equipment and future expansion, organised in a dedicated rack inside a secure comms room.
Enterprise Wi-Fi across about 400 m²
The wireless network was designed with several access points to ensure:
- Uniform coverage Meeting rooms, open-plan area and common spaces.
- Capacity Many users connected at the same time.
- Centralised management Policies, optimisation and visibility from a single console.
- Future-ready Meeting rooms, VoIP, IoT and business equipment.
Firewall and segmentation
The firewall protects the network against external threats, controls traffic and enforces access policies. Together with a well-segmented network and properly configured Wi-Fi, it reduces operational risk in a fast-growing company that depends on cloud services.
Workstations ready to use
The Dell and Apple workstations were delivered configured and standardised, shortening onboarding for each new employee.
