Ouro Rossio Hotel, next to Restauradores in Lisbon, opened with all of its technology entrusted to a single partner: DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting designed, installed and manages a network with 30 cloud-managed Wi-Fi access points, 55 video surveillance cameras, a business firewall and a connection to an Altice datacentre, across the building’s 6 floors. Day-to-day operations are covered by an IT Unlimited Premium contract.

What was at stake
A new hotel has no running-in period: Wi-Fi has to work everywhere from the first guest, video surveillance has to cover the entire building and the operations network has to be protected. In a hotel, a network failure turns into a negative review and reputational damage.
How the network was built
Wi-Fi with no blind spots
The project began with a coverage survey and radio frequency planning specific to the building. The 30 access points cover floors, rooms, common areas, the restaurant and service areas, with centralised cloud management and permanent monitoring.
Two networks that never cross
The guest network is completely isolated from the operations network, which protects the management systems, POS, PMS and video surveillance.
Full video surveillance
55 cameras cover entrances, corridors, reception, parking and outdoor areas, with continuous recording.
A protected perimeter
A business firewall controls access and blocks threats; the connection to an Altice datacentre provides robust connectivity for the entire operation.
One partner, from specification to support
DataRoad took full responsibility: technical specification, equipment procurement, installation, configuration, testing and training of the hotel’s staff. After handover, IT Unlimited Premium ensures ongoing support, unlimited on-site assistance and continuous maintenance of the entire infrastructure.
The methodology for hotels, refined over more than a decade, rests on three pillars: full coverage with no blind spots, complete isolation between networks and a frictionless guest experience.
