When a company’s Wi-Fi is slow, drops out or does not reach certain rooms, the cause is almost never the internet you pay for — it is the internal network: equipment that is poorly chosen, badly positioned or interfering with itself. A coverage study measures the signal metre by metre, shows where and why it fails, and almost always leads to a simpler and cheaper solution than buying more routers.
Do you recognise these symptoms?
- The cursed meeting room The video call always drops in the same spot.
- The corner with no network There are areas where there is simply no signal.
- The 11 a.m. slump Everything slows down when the whole team is working.
- Mobile data Colleagues who have given up and use their phone’s hotspot.
If so, the problem is the internal network — and you have probably already spent money on solutions that did not fix it.
Why a faster connection does not fix it
The first reflex is to call the operator and sign up for more speed. The bottleneck, however, is not at the entrance to the building: it is in the distribution inside. Consumer equipment serving dozens of people, access points in the wrong place, overlapping radio channels and walls, glass or metal shelving that absorb the signal.
More speed in a system like that is like fitting a bigger engine to a car with the handbrake on. What is not measured cannot be fixed.

How a coverage study works
A technician walks the space with measuring equipment and builds a real map of the signal: where it is strong, where it is weak, where there is interference and where it disappears. To that map are added the company’s habits — where video calls take place, how many people work in each area, which devices connect.
The result is an objective diagnosis: the problems, their causes and the cost of solving them. No guesswork and no unnecessary equipment.
From the map to a managed network
Once the diagnosis is done, DataRoad - IT Services and Consulting designs and installs the business Wi-Fi solution: professional access points in the right places — rarely the same places as before — channels configured so they do not interfere, and separate networks for staff and visitors.
In most offices the installation is done in a day, without stopping anyone. Afterwards, the network can be managed and monitored by DataRoad as part of our managed IT services.
Next step: book the study
