The client
O Ouro Rossio Hotel, near Restauradores, in the heart of Lisbon, is a 6-storey hotel that chose DataRoad as its technological partner to equip the entire building with a modern, secure IT infrastructure tailored to the demands of the hotel industry.
The challenge
A new hotel needed to launch with all its technology functioning impeccably from day one: full and seamless WiFi coverage for guests and operations, comprehensive video surveillance, robust network security and support that guaranteed uninterrupted continuity. In a hotel, WiFi or system failures translate into dissatisfied guests, negative reviews and reputational damage — something no hotel can afford.
The DataRoad solution
DataRoad developed and executed the project in its entirety — from technical specification and equipment procurement to installation, configuration, testing and hotel team training —, assuming full responsibility for the establishment's technological solution. The implemented solution included:
- 30 wireless access points — full, cloud-managed Wi-Fi coverage across all floors, rooms, common areas, the restaurant and service zones, with permanent monitoring and complete separation between the guest network and the operational network (protecting management systems, POS, PMS and CCTV).
- 55 CCTV cameras - comprehensive hotel coverage: entrances, corridors, reception, car park and outdoor areas, with continuous recording.
- Enterprise firewall — perimeter security and network protection against unauthorized access and threats.
- Altice data centre connection — robust connectivity to support the entire hotel operation.
- «IT Unlimited Premium» Contract» - permanent IT support, 24/7 monitoring and ongoing maintenance of the entire infrastructure.
The project was based on DataRoad's proprietary methodology for the hotel industry, developed over more than decade and grounded on three pillars: full coverage with no blind spots, air-gapped network security e frictionless guest experience. Each project begins with a building-specific coverage and radio frequency planning study, guaranteeing a stable, high-speed signal in every room and public area.
