Companies in Cascais

Close and on-site

From the Cascais line to Estoril, on site whenever the problem needs hands.

Many companies here run with small teams and nobody from IT in the office. We take that role: constant monitoring, remote support and someone on site when it is needed.

IT Services for Businesses in Cascais

Cascais has its own business profile: many international companies headquartered abroad, small and highly qualified teams, hybrid working as the norm and offices scattered across various parts of the municipality rather than concentrated in a business park. DataRoad works with this profile — and the demands that come with it.

Hybrid working
Half the team out of the office on any given weekday
Sit outside
Security policies defined in another country, applied here
Dispersed offices
From the centre to Alcabideche, without a single business hub
Alternative calls
Redundancy — including satellite — where fibre doesn't cut it

What is different in Cascais

Unlike Oeiras, Cascais does not have a large business park that concentrates activity. It has smaller offices distributed across various parts of the municipality, frequently in shared buildings or adapted spaces. This changes the nature of the problems: less large-scale infrastructure, more connection quality, security of remote access and reliability of the local network.

The office is a point, not the centre

With hybrid teams, network performance at employees' homes weighs as much as that of the office. Secure remote access and reliable videoconferencing are no longer optional extras.

Shared buildings

Spaces with shared infrastructure bring limitations: where cables run, where the rack is located, what connections are available. Many technical decisions are constrained by the building.

Requirements that come from outside

Encryption, MFA, identity management and log retention arrive defined by head office. Someone has to apply them locally and document that they have been applied.

With no technical person on site

Teams of ten to thirty people rarely have internal IT. When something fails physically, someone needs to turn up.

A group of young professionals gathered around a desk, looking at a computer screen together in an office setting.

Internet redundancy is no longer exotic

In a company whose business depends on video meetings and cloud platforms, the internet connection is the critical infrastructure. A second connection — from a different operator, or via satellite where it makes sense — with automatic failover resolves the problem that most interrupts work.

It is the architecture that we applied at ReStream, in Cascais, and today it is one of the recommendations we make most often in the region.

What we provide in the region

Service This includes
Assistance and support Remote and on-site support for workstations, incident management and IT Unlimited at a fixed cost.
Networks and cabling Certified structured cabling, Layer 3 switching and PoE power supply.
Wireless Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 with coverage analysis and centralised cloud-based management.
Cyber security Enterprise firewall, traffic segmentation and managed antivirus.
Servers and data Servers, NAS and backups with restoration trials.
Communications IP telephone systems and CCTV video surveillance with continuous recording.
A real project in Cascais. At ReStream we implemented the entire network infrastructure for the new premises: WiFi 6 with full coverage of the space, Layer 3 switches with PoE, a firewall with traffic segmentation and a Starlink connection as redundancy — with automatic failover in the event of primary connection failure.

Survey, design, installation, configuration and maintenance. In a network prepared for video and intensive collaborative work, active equipment matters just as much as cabling.

How we got started

1

Survey

Office visit, inventory of existing items and reading of the building's limitations before proposing anything.

2

Proposal with scope

What is included, what is excluded, response times and the fixed monthly fee. In English, if that is the group’s working language.

3

Execution

Cabling, asset, security and stations, with agreed windows so as not to halt the operation.

4

Operation

Helpdesk, monitoring and regular reporting in the format required by head office.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with branches of foreign companies?

It is a significant part of what we do in the region. This includes communication and documentation in English, implementing group policies and reporting in the format required by head office.

Our building doesn't allow new cabling to pass through. Is there an alternative?

There almost always is. Depending on the case, existing cabling with suitable equipment is used, point-to-point wireless connections between areas, or alternative routes. What we do not do is promise a network category that the building does not allow to be reached.

Can you support people who work from home?

Yes. User support is location-independent: managed endpoints, VPN, conditional access, and remote support work the same way whether in the office or outside it.

How much is it?

The model IT Unlimited set a monthly fee per defined scope, without call counting — precisely to allow closing the annual budget and defending it before head office.

A chat before making a decision

Whether you’re tackling a specific problem, planning a move or simply looking for a second opinion, we always start in the same way: by understanding your situation before making any suggestions. No obligation, no jargon and no catalogues.
