Entities already trading have <strong>60 working days<\/strong> to identify and register themselves \u2014 the deadline falls in mid-September 2026. Failing to register is an offence in its own right.<\/p><div class=\"dr-n2-alerta\"><strong>Registering is your responsibility.<\/strong> The CNCS does not classify anyone on its own initiative: the burden of self-assessment sits with the organisation. If you have not looked at this yet, look at it this week.<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-drn2s04 elementor-widget elementor-widget-shortcode\" data-id=\"drn2s04\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"shortcode.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-shortcode\"><div class=\"dr-n2-bloco\"><h2>What you have to do, and by when<\/h2><ul class=\"dr-n2-prazos\"><li><span class=\"dr-n2-q\">Already in force<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-t\">Cybersecurity Legal Framework<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-d\">Decree-Law no. 125\/2025 of 4 December came into force on 4 May 2026. Regulation no. 756\/2026 of 22 June set out how it works in practice.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"dr-n2-q\">~15 September 2026<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-t\">Self-identification and registration on MyCiber<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-d\">60 working days from 23 June, the date the CNCS platform became available. Entities that started trading later have 30 working days. <b>Missing this deadline is, in itself, an offence.<\/b><\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"dr-n2-q\">20 days after classification<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-t\">Cybersecurity officer and point of contact<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-d\">Once the CNCS confirms how your entity is classified, you must report who is accountable for cybersecurity and name a permanent point of contact.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"dr-n2-q\">31 January 2027<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-t\">Asset inventory<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-d\">Or six months after the final classification notice, whichever comes first.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"dr-n2-q\">June 2028<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-t\">Minimum measures and annual report<\/span><span class=\"dr-n2-d\">Two years to apply the security measures for your assigned level and to file the first report.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"dr-n2-nota\">Fines reach <strong>10 million euros or 2% of worldwide turnover<\/strong> for essential entities, and 7 million or 1.4% for important entities. Without it there is no way to meet the 24-hour notification, because you do not even know an incident happened.<\/span><\/li><li><strong>Incident response<\/strong><span>A written procedure, named owners and a rehearsal. When it happens, the 24-hour clock is already running.<\/span><\/li><li><strong>Continuity and recovery<\/strong><span>Tested backups and defined recovery times \u2014 not a promise that copies exist somewhere.<\/span><\/li><li><strong>Training for staff and management<\/strong><span>The framework holds management bodies accountable. Short sessions and phishing simulations, with a record of who took part.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><div class=\"dr-n2-cta\"><span class=\"dr-fx\"><span class=\"dr-fx-d\">A NIS2 assessment in two weeks.<\/span><span class=\"dr-fx-s\">We survey what you have, compare it against the measures for your assigned level and hand you a written document setting out what is missing, what is urgent and what it costs.
